French 1750s Louis XV Style Cherry Buffet à Deux-Corps with Lower Enfilade

A French Louis XV period cherry buffet à deux-corps cabinet with original hand wrought-iron hardware from the mid 18th century. This French tall cabinet, which comes from an important manor house, features a lower cabinet, made of a four-door enfilade, on which a tall two-door cabinet is sitting. The cornice at the top overhangs a simple rail, adorned with delicately carved floral motifs. The perfectly symmetrical recessed panels on the doors, with their sinuous lines, attract all the attention. This motif is repeated yet slightly adapted, on the two central doors of the enfilade. The lateral doors are decorated with a more linear design. The exquisite original hardware allows the doors to open in order to reveal inner shelves. In perfect logic, the skirt is scalloped, accentuating beautifully the gorgeous Louis XV lines of the ensemble, along with the scrolled feet. Placed anywhere in a living room, bedroom or office, this French 1750s buffet à deux-corps with lower enfilade will bring a distinguished presence to any décor.
