Mid-18th Century French Louis XV Period Buffet À Deux-Corps with Floral Décor - Pent

A French mid-18th century Louis XV period carved wood buffet à deux-corps from Normandy. This French tall cabinet was born in the Northern region of Normandy, during the reign of King Louis XV. This piece features a large cornice sitting above a floral-themed frieze. Two glass doors make up the upper cabinet. Each door is carved with curvy panels exquisitely adorned with the same floral motifs that we saw in the frieze. The ensemble is framed with textured Saint-André cross patterns. The lower cabinet, made of smaller wooden doors reflects the same general design than the top, ending with an exquisitely carved skirt. The pegged feet on which this piece is raised are scrolled and adorned with acanthus leaves. With its rich patina and elegant carved décor, this French Louis XV Normand buffet à deux-corps, circa 1750 will enliven any living or dining room beautifully.
