A French ormolu four-light chandelier with mounted cherub, vines, leaves and cloches shades from the 19th century. This French gilt bronze chandelier features a central armature adorned with acanthus leaves at the top, leading the eye down to cascading flowers, flanking an exquisite cherub. In a manner reminiscent of the Baroque era, the cherub is depicted flying, his right arm extended forward, giving us the impression that we are witnessing him in action. Four scrolled arms are connected to the central beam and are adorned with foliage motifs. Four bell-shaped glass flowers with iridescent colors protect the light bulbs. With its delicate lines and exquisite décor, this French 19th century chandelier will bring a charming presence to any room. It has been wired for the US and is ready to be hung.
