SOLD - A French Regence style carved wooden bench from the 19th century, with X-form cross stretcher, foliage décor and new checkered upholstery. This exquisite French backless bench features a rectangular seat recovered with a soft blue and white checkred fabric, resting on a richly carved base. The scalloped skirt is adorned with carved foliage, while the bench is raised on six cabriole legs with scrolled feet, connected to one another through a curvy double X-form cross stretcher. The result is one of elegance, the cross stretcher reminding us of the Regence period while the cabriole legs show the taste for curvy lines of the Louis XV era. With its richly carved décor and graceful silhouette, this French 19th century wooden bench will bring a touch of refinement to any home, whether placed in a bedroom, living room or foyer.
