A pair of French Louis XVI style carved walnut bergères from the 19th century, with fan-shaped wingbacks and new upholstery. Born in France during the politically dynamic 19th century, each of this pair of bergère chair features a fan-shaped wingback, adorned with carved foliage on its upper rail. The arms, partially upholstered on the top, are accented with scrolled knuckles and acanthus leaves. Recovered with a new cotton fabric on the back, arms and seat, the chairs each present a custom made cushion. They are raised on fluted legs decorated with carved rosettes on the knees and a delicate frieze on the skirt. With their nice proportions and lovely walnut patina, these French Louis XVI style bergère chairs from the 19th century, will bring a graceful touch to any bedroom or living room.
