SOLD - French, 1870s Louis XVI Style Painted Trumeau with Oval Garland Carved Mirror

SOLD - A French Louis XVI style painted wood trumeau mirror from the second half of the 19th century with oval mirror plate. This French trumeau mirror features a linear painted wood frame adorned with a rectangular molding enlivened by accented corners and delicately carved rosettes typical of the Louis XVI era. Contrasting perfectly with the clean lines of the frame, the central mirror is surrounded with an oval garland molding. The mirror plate is clear with some signs of aging. The color palette used to paint the frame is light beige, that compliments perfectly the elegance of the carved décor. The simplicity of the lines, combined with the Antiquity-inspired Neoclassical décor make this French Louis XVI style trumeau mirror, circa 1870 a charming addition to any home, perhaps placed above a mantel, commode or enfilade.
