A French Louis XV period walnut commode en arbalète with three-drawers and panelled sides from the mid-18th century. This French three-drawer walnut commode features a shaped top sitting above a crossbow facade. Three hand-cut dovetailed drawers are adorned with carved cartouches. Two longer cartouches frame the handles on each side, while a smaller one, placed on the protruding section of the facade, highlights the escutcheon. The skirt is discreetly scalloped and the ensemble is raised on four feet, slightly scrolled in the front and straight in the back. The side panels are simply decorated with recessed panels. With its warm patina, witnessing the age of the commode, along with its elegant lines, this French 18th century walnut commode will be an excellent addition to any home, perhaps placed in a bedroom, living room or hallway.
