SOLD - Pair of French Louis XVI Period Wooden Panels Carved in Low-Relief with Bouquets

A pair of French period Louis XVI hand-carved wooden panels with urns and bouquets from the late 18th century. This pair of French wooden architectural panels was born in France during the short reign of King Louis XVI. Each panel features a delicate décor carved in low-relief showing an exquisite urn raised on a pedestal, adorned with a luxuriant bouquet of flowers. The urn captures all of our attention with its lovely body, adorned with beads and gadroons, flanked with striking volutes serving as lateral handles. The bouquet is discreetly echoed by the two flowers that seem to be growing from the base, creating a perfect conclusion to the composition. With their lovely decorative theme and quality of execution, this pair of French carved panels circa 1775-1790 will accentuate any wall beautifully, perhaps placed as overdoors, above a bed or a chest-of-drawers.
