Swedish Round Painted Centre Table with Carved Berries and Foliage, 19th Century

A Swedish painted round centre table with foliage and berries carved motifs, scoop patterns and Saint-Andrew cross stretcher from the, 19th century. This Swedish painted table features a simple circular top sitting above a round apron, adorned with carved berries with their foliage, rhythmically alternating with scoop patterns. In a manner that Baroque artists wouldn't have shunned, the berries and foliage could not be confined to their apron and spilled about. The table is raised on four tapering legs, beautifully connected to one another with a Saint-Andrew cross stretcher. With its light grey color palette, typical of the Scandinavian taste for pastel tones, along with its elegant lines, this Swedish 19th century, table would be an excellent decorative accent, used either as a centre table or side table.
