SOLD - French Louis XV Style Walnut Enfilade with Four Doors and Drawers Parquetry Top

SOLD - A French Louis XV style walnut four-drawer over four door enfilade with scalloped and pierced apron from the 1950s. This French long walnut buffet features a shaped and raised parquetry top over four drawers. The hardware mounted on each drawer is placed inside a cartouche-shaped motif while a delicate carved bouquet creates a visual separation between the two central ones. This central accent is highlighted by the treatment of the doors, with their curvy and raised outline. A visual punctuation is created by the classical urn, carved in the center of the scalloped and pierced skirt. This urn is flanked with various foliage with wheat motifs, that are echoed on the central beam separating the doors. Those doors open to reveal inner shelves, offering ample storage opportunities. The ensemble is raised on four legs, the two in the front being scrolled. With its convenient proportions and the richness of its Louis XV decorative vocabulary, this French midcentury enfilade will be a wonderful focal point in any dining or living room.
