SOLD - Petite 1800s English Georgian Pine Box-Settle with Paneled Back and Open Arms

A petite English Georgian period pine bench with solid back, open arms and box under the seat from the early 19th century. Born in the early 1800, this English pine settle features a solid straight back, rhythmically accented by recessed panels, flanked by two open arms with scrolled extremities. Settles traditionally featured tall backs to protect the sitter from cold winters. The rectangular wooden seat comprises a box under the central lift up seat, providing great storage possibilities. The paneled base, marked by the simplicity of the straight leg supports, compliments the ensemble perfectly. With its linear silhouette, small proportions and simple pine finish, this English Georgian settle circa 1800 will be a great addition to any foyer, powder room or hallway.
