SOLD - 18th Century Scandinavian Tall Secretary with State of Denmark Provenance Plaque

A Danish 18th century tall secretary with provenance plaque indicating 'The State of Denmark'. This Scandinavian secretary was born in the second half of the 18th century in the kingdom of Denmark. In addition to a light color palette, typical of the Scandinavian taste, this piece captures our attention immediately with its pierced cornice, adorned in the center with a carved motif and sitting on a dentil molding. The reeding below subtly accentuates the impression of verticality, along with the side posts, made of fluted half-columns. The double doors with recessed panels open up to reveal inner shelves, one of which - at the top - was dedicated to spoons. On the inside of the right door, a plaque indicates the provenance, The State of Denmark. Two thin drawers are located below the lower shelf. Two wooden pulls receive the slant-front desk, hiding multiple drawers and compartments flanking a central door. Three tripartite drawers make up the lower section of this secretary. Whether used to display your favorite decorative objects in a grand entrance or living room, this Danish secretary, circa 1770 would be a wonderful asset in any home and would be of great help with the art of organization.
