French Renaissance Revival Carved Walnut Vaisselier from the Early 19th Century- AUCTION

A French 1820s Renaissance Revival carved walnut vaisselier in the Henri II style from a chateau of Touraine. This exquisite French vaisselier was born in the Touraine area of France (think Loire Valley Chateaux) in the early 19th century, at a time when the term Neo-Renaissance was first used. This tall cabinet is indeed adorned with the decorative vocabulary typical of the Renaissance era, with its rhythmic repetition of rounded arches supported with two lateral columns, the linenfold paneling and the trefoil moldings. While the upper section is adorned with open shelves, the lower part is made of three drawers sitting atop a central door. The undeniable elegance of this Neo-Renaissance cabinet, combined with the rich walnut patina, makes this French, 1820s vaisselier an excellent choice for any dining room, living room or kitchen. - AUCTION
