An English sandstone baluster-shaped sundial with bronze dial from the mid 19th century. This English sundial features a lovely baluster shape, topped with a bronze dial revealing a lovely verdigris, an exquisite green patina, typical of oxidization. The décor, very faint, seems to be depicting the coat of arms of the United Kingdom, the lion of England and the Unicorn of Scotland, surrounded by Roman numerals. The baluster part is raised on a square base, whose linearity compliments the roundedness of the piece beautifully. With its exquisite patina and elegant lines, this English sandstone sundial circa 1860 will be a charming decorative accent in any garden.
