SOLD - Swedish Period Rococo Wooden Cabinet with Original Paint and Bonnet Pediment

A Swedish Rococo period painted wood cabinet with original paint, bonnet pediment and double doors over four drawers from the mid-18th century. This Swedish painted cabinet features a bonnet type pediment, typical of the Rococo era, surmounting a pair of arched double doors. These doors open thanks to their working lock and key to reveal four inner shelves - including a spoon shelf at the top - offering great storage opportunities. The lower cabinet is made of four drawers, two small ones at the top, followed by two larger ones. The Rococo hardware perfectly highlights the beauty of the cream colored painted finish, reminiscent of the Scandinavian taste for pastel colors. While the cabinet is raised on four scrolled feet, typical of the Swedish Rococo era, the delicately inverted arch skirt is the final touch of this exquisite piece. Placed anywhere in a home, this Swedish, 1760s cabinet will be a definite show-stopper.
