SOLD - Swedish Gustavian Style Oval Dining Room Table with Extensions and Tapered Legs

A Swedish Gustavian style painted dining room table with extensions from the early 20th century. This Swedish dining room table circa 1900-1920 features a circular top discreetly adorned with a dentil molding on the apron. Raised on four slightly tapering legs with brass spade feet, the table conveniently becomes oval when its leaves are added in the center. There are a total of three leaves. While it can be sometimes difficult to find a traditional Gustavian table with a carved apron on the extensions, this early 20th century one shows a continuous apron running through the length, regardless of the number of leaves used. The elegant simplicity, typical of the Gustavian era, as well as the light color palette typical of the Scandinavian taste, make this Swedish oval table a perfect table in any dining room as it will accommodate up to ten people for dinner or just four as a round breakfast table. Its timeless elegance would also make it a great center table for a foyer. Without the extensions, the round table is 45.5" of diameter. The apron is 26.5" high.
