SOLD Pair of Swedish 1830s Gustavian Commodes with Reeded Motifs and Canted Sides

SOLD A pair of Swedish late Gustavian three-drawer chests with dentil molding, reeded motifs and canted side posts from the first half of the 19th century. Each of this pair of Swedish commodes features a raised rectangular top with canted corners in the front, surmounting a delicate dentil molding. The canted side posts, adorned with carved rosettes and fluted motifs, flank three graduated dovetailed drawers decorated with reeded motifs, typical of the Gustavian era. The commodes are raised on four short tapered feet, angled in the front to follow the position of the side posts. The clean neoclassical lines, combined to an impeccable décor and light color palette, will make this pair of Swedish Gustavian chest-of-drawers, circa 1830, an excellent choice for any foyer or living room, perhaps topped with a pair of mirrors or paintings.
