A Swedish painted wood buffet with two drawers and two doors from the mid 19th century. This Swedish painted buffet features a rectangular molded top surrounded by a three-quarter wooden gallery. Two dovetailed frieze drawers, adorned with simply carved motifs, sit above a set of double doors. Each door is decorated with recessed panels carved in a manner reminiscent of the drawers and echoed on the side panels. These doors open to reveal unpainted stationary shelves. The side posts, whose carvings tie up with the rest of the piece, become the feet on which this buffet is raised. Painted in a light grey color, typical of the Scandinavian taste for lighter palettes, this Swedish two-door two-drawer buffet circa 1830-1840 will accent any décor beautifully.
