SOLD - Swedish 1850s Tall Case Column Clock with Original Paint and Carved Crest

A Swedish painted tall case column clock from the mid 19th century, with carved crest, original movements and original paint. This exquisite Swedish clock features a delicately carved crest, adorned with a fire urn, accented with a swag and cascading spheres. The face is secured behind a single-hinged glass door and comprises three hands. The sides of the head are pierced. The long column-shaped body is fluted and accented by two petite brackets at the top. The central door can be fully removed thanks to a key. The linear base with its canted corners contrasts beautifully with the roundedness of the semi column placed above. The result is one of elegance and pure simplicity. With its light colored finish typical of the Scandinavian taste for soft palettes, lovely patina and graceful lines, this Swedish 1850s longcase clock (commonly referred as a Mora clock) will compliment any décor beautifully. This clock has its original mechanisms but is not in working condition. A quartz crystal could be installed for an additional $150, should you desire for this clock to be in working condition.
