SOLD - A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood two-part linen press with two doors in the upper cabinet over four drawers from the mid 19th century. This Swedish painted wood cabinet features a large molded cornice sitting above two tall reeded doors adorned with carved rosettes in each corner, typical of the Gustavian style. These doors open to reveal three large shelves. One of the doors is painted with the date 1857. The lower cabinet is made of four dovetailed drawers, two shorter ones placed above two larger ones, all opening with a ring pull. The ensemble is raised on four bracket feet, whose fluting seems to visually respond to the reeding of the upper facade. With its clean lines, soft color palette and subtle décor, this Swedish 1857 linen press will be an excellent choice for any living room, foyer or bedroom.
