Born in France in the early years of Emperor Napoleon III's reign, this large painted bookcase features a molded cavetto cornice, sitting above three doors with paneled glass, flanked with fluted motifs. The bookcase's lower section presents three wooden doors surrounding three central drawers adorned with elongated diamond patterns. All doors open to reveal a convenient storage space, with inner shelves in the upper section. Raised on a scalloped plinth, the bookcase is accented with recessed panels on the sides and is painted in a soft color complimenting the clean lines beautifully.
