SOLD French 1790s Louis XV Walnut Bergère à Oreilles with Carved Roses and Guilloches

SOLD A French Louis XV walnut bergère à oreilles from the late 18th century, with carved roses, guilloche motifs and new upholstery. Created in France during the last quarter of the 18th century, this walnut bergère features the typical Louis XV silhouette as well as a dark finish. The wingback, perfect to provide a subtle sense of privacy, is topped with carved roses on the crest while the rail is adorned with a frieze of guilloches. The arms, upholstered on the top, present scrolling knuckles and flank a rectangular seat with custom cushion. The bergère has been recently reupholstered with a neutral colored double welt fabric allowing the structure to be perfectly seen. The chair is resting on four cabriole legs with carved flowers on the knees and in the apron's center. With its Louis XV lines and dark walnut patina, this wingback bergère chair circa 1790 will bring a touch of French refinement to any living room or bedroom.
