SOLD Pair of French Louis XVI Style 1910s Bergère Chairs with Light Painted Finish

SOLD A pair of French Louis XVI style painted and carved wooden bergère armchairs from the early 20th century, with scrolled arms, fluted legs and new upholstery. Each of this pair of French Louis XVI style bergères features a rectangular, slightly slanted back, flowing delicately into the partially upholstered arms with scrolled extremities. These arms flank the seat, comprising a single custom-made cushion, and come to rest in a delicate movement, onto the fluted legs on which the chair is raised. A lovely volute, adorned with acanthus leaves and rosettes, mark the transition to the knees. The chairs are painted in a nice off-white / cream color with distressed areas, whose lightness highlights the structure beautifully. With their nice proportions, sturdy structure and elegant Louis XVI lines, this pair of French bergère chairs circa 1910 will be an excellent choice to decorate any living room, bedroom or office.
