SOLD - A Dutch Rococo mid-18th century bleached oak buffet à deux-corps with two doors over three drawers. This Rococo buffet à deux-corps circa 1740 features a beautifully carved crest with acanthus leaves and rosettes flanked by exquisite volutes. The central motif is stained in a darker shade, contrasting nicely with the lighter finish of the bleached oak. The double door upper cabinet sits atop three bombé drawers. The doors are made of slightly recessed panels, carved with delicate rinceau, garland and urn motifs. They open up to reveal three inner shelves with hidden drawers. The lower section is made of three drawers, combining concave and convex shapes, giving great life to the whole piece. Each of these drawers is adorned with beautiful hardware with urns. The eye is then led to the lower section with its scalloped skirt and ball-and-claw feet. Its lovely Rococo bombée Silhouette, combined with the simplicity of its bleached finish will make this Dutch buffet à deux-corps from the mid-18th century a wonderful addition to any foyer, living room or office, with its doors opened to receive decorative objects or closed to keep your possessions organized.
