SOLD French 1790s Period Louis XVI Bleached Oak Three-Drawer Commode with Rinceaux

SOLD A French 18th century Louis XVI three-drawer bleached oak commode with rinceaux motifs. This French commode features a rectangular three-plank top with bevelled edge over three carved drawers. Each drawer, grooved on the side to receive the runner, is adorned with a delicately carved molding, rinceaux, flowers, diamond shapes and medallions ingeniously wrapping themselves around the hardware. A central escutcheon is flanked by ring pulls decorated with urns. The side posts are both fluted and reeded, echoing the drawers' motifs in their lower section. Raised on short round tapering feet in the front and straight feet in the back, the commode exudes an undeniable elegance, typical of the Louis XVI era. Placed anywhere in a home, it will bring a great classical presence to the room of your choice.
