SOLD - 1840''''s Burmese Carved Wood Openwork Mirror with Rinceaux and Bird Motifs

A wooden carved Burmese mirror with openwork design from the mid-19th century. This exquisite mirror was born in Myanmar, (former Burma) in the 1840s. Featuring an openwork design, the frame is adorned with a multitude of delicate rinceaux with birds nested in the leaves and highlighted in beaded sunflower shaped medallions marking the centre of each side. Four C-scrolls finish up the composition. With its skilful décor and great proportions, this Burmese wooden mirror will be a lovely decorative accent on any wall, perhaps placed above a sofa, console table or credenza.
