Born in France during the Age of Enlightenment, each of this pair of Solomonic barley twist columns features a hand carved Ionic capital, supported by a delicately curving base. Brought back to Rome in the 4th century, Solomonic columns have inspired many artists, from Bernini to Rubens during the Baroque period. Adorned with vines following the s-scroll motifs, our columns are painted and parcel-gilt.
