A Provençale French Louis XV period walnut commode en arbalète from the mid-18th century. Born in Provence in the 1750s during the reign of King Louis XV, this French three-drawer chest features a serpentine top sitting above three crossbow drawers. Each drawer is adorned with Rococo hardware, whose golden hue highlights the walnut patina beautifully. The central section of the façade, rhythmically marked by the escutcheons, gently leads the eye to the skirt, adorned in its center with a charming carving. The side panels are simply adorned with recessed panels. The ensemble is raised on two hoofed feet in the front, straight in the back. With its delicate Silhouette, warm patina and timeless elegance, this Provençale, 1750s walnut commode will be an elegant addition to any bedroom, living room, foyer or hallway.
