SOLD - Late 19th century French oil on canvas painting of kittens playing signed Laroche in giltwood frame. This French oil on canvas painting features a lovely scene depicting three kittens, two white ones along with a grey and white one playing with each other. Anyone owning a cat will understand that the serious looking white kitten in a brown box must feel like in heaven! The artist probably caught him pouncing out of the box to surprise his siblings while the one in the middle is rolling on its back. The small ball on the right is for now of no interest, but this won't last long. The green fabric used to cover the table, along with the red curtain, contrast beautifully with the coats of the kittens. Set within a giltwood frame adorned with beaded and egg-and-dart motifs, this oil on canvas painting circa 1890 is signed Laroche lower right.
