SOLD - A French Louis XVI period two-drawer walnut commode from the third quarter of the 18th century, with fluted side posts and tapered legs. This French walnut commode features a rectangular planked top sitting above two dovetailed drawers. Each drawer is simply adorned with recessed panels and accented with two linear handles flanking a central shield-shaped escutcheon. The uninterrupted verticality of the fluted side posts creates a perfect visual harmony on the façade. The sides are simply decorated with additional recessed panels. The chest is raised on four tall tapered legs. With its pure, classical lines and lovely patina, this French 18th century Louis XVI commode will bring a timeless elegance to any room, from a bedroom to a living room.
