SOLD - Louis XV Style French Wooden Trumeau Mirror with Painted Bouquet, circa 1850

SOLD - A French Louis XV style painted wood trumeau mirror from the mid-19th century. This French trumeau mirror features a linear silhouette, made of a light grey painted wooden frame, accented by delicate giltwood motifs and surrounding an exquisite depiction of a bouquet in a stone vase in the upper section. This scene is adorned with a dentil molding, a swag, two pinecones and four rosettes, that create a perfectly harmonious composition. The mirror plate, which shows a nice antiquing, is secured in a frame, accentuated with foliage motifs, a bead-and-reel molding and a lovely bouquet of flowers displayed in a wicker basket. The refinement of the giltwood décor, beautifully contrasted by the simplicity of the grey painted background will make this French Louis XV style trumeau mirror, circa 1850 a lovely focal point in any room, perhaps placed above a credenza, console table or enfilade.
