SOLD A pair of Swedish 1870s petite chests-of-drawers from Göteborg, with dark blue or grey painted finish and marbleized tops. Born during the second half of the 19th century in the Southwestern city of Göteborg (Gothenburg), this pair of Swedish commodes will charm you with their delicate presence. Each commode features a slightly raised rectangular faux-marble top with canted corners in the front, sitting above three drawers. Each drawer is adorned with two brass ring pulls flanking a central escutcheon, while the canted side posts are decorated with delicate floral motifs in their upper section. The eye is gently lead downwards the tapered feet on which the commodes are raised. The chests are painted in a lovely dark blue/grey finish, contrasting beautifully with the light color of marbleized tops. With their graceful silhouettes and refined décor, this pair of Swedish 1870s commodes will bring a touch of elegance to any home, whether used as bedside tables flanking a tall bed, or placed in a living room.
