A pair of Swedish Rococo style painted wood armchairs from the late 19th century, with antique leather covered seats, carved splats, cabriole legs and cross stretchers. Each of this pair of Swedish armchairs features a beautifully pierced back with carved splat, adorned with a carved shell on the crest. Two shaped arms flank the seat, covered with a light brown with hints of gray leather seat showing a nicely aged patina. Each chair is raised on four legs, the front ones being cabriole while the back ones are turned. The shell theme is reprised and adapted on the scalloped skirt in the front. A cross stretcher connects the legs to one another. With their curvy Rococo lines and dark finish, this pair of Swedish armchairs circa 1890 will bring a graceful presence to any home, whether placed in a living room, bedroom or office.
