SOLD - French 18th Century Round Table with Parquet Versailles Top and Baluster Legs

SOLD - A French early 18th century round centre table with Parquet Versailles top and baluster legs. This exquisite French table was born during the 1720s, at a time when the Régent Philippe d'Orléans was in control of the power, as king Louis XV was still too young to reign. The table is surmounted by a circular parquet top, revealing a pattern which was introduced at the Versailles court during the late 17th century to replace the marble floors. The table is raised on four elegant baluster legs resting on simple bun feet. With its elegant silhouette and elaborate top, this French, 18th century table will be a great addition to any home, perhaps placed in a foyer, dining room or kitchen area.
