SOLD - A pair of French Louis XVI style carved wooden upholstered fauteuils cabriolets with oval backs from the early 19th century. Each of this pair of French armchairs features a richly carved oval back with foliage themed crest. The back and seat are covered in a double welt upholstery with the addition of a comfortable cushion on the seat. The partially upholstered arms are scrolled on the knuckles, in true Louis XVI manner. The seat rail is adorned with carved garlands and rosettes. The chairs are raised on fluted legs, slightly slanted in the back. Their timeless elegance, along with their dark patina, will make this pair of French cabriolet armchairs circa 1820 an excellent choice for any living room, office or bedroom.
