A set of six Belgian Rococo style dining room side chairs from the mid-19th century with carved crests and new upholstery. Each of this set of Belgian side chairs features a lathed back, surmounted by an exquisite carved crest, adorned with Rocaille motifs. The curvy lines of the various scrolls find a perfect balance with the linear profile of the laths but are however echoed by the delicately sinuous construction of the back support. Each seat has been recovered with a sturdy double welt cotton fabric. The ensemble rests on a discreetly scalloped apron, accented by delicate rocaille. Each chair is raised on four cabriole legs with scrolled feet. The painted finish shows nice wear throughout, witnessing the age of the chairs. With their elegant silhouette and finely carved décor, this set of six Belgian dining room chairs from the mid-19th century will be an excellent choice for any dining room or kitchen.
