18th Century French Writing Table

This very pretty fruit-wood table has a so-called crossbow facade, it opens with a drawer and the beautifully molded belt is fretted around the perimeter, it rests on four curved legs terminated by small volutes. Originally from the Southwest, she is in a good state of conservation, she has undergone two small transplants on the back of the feet and a mattress pad was placed on the back of the tray, the latter is perfectly invisible. It has kept its original lock and it has a charming key whose head is very nicely cut and chiseled. It will easily find its place in the different rooms of the house, the living room, the bedroom and even the entrance where it can be used as a writing table or console depending on its location.
