This French walnut commode features a rectangular top sitting above three graduated drawers. Each drawer is dovetailed and delicately adorned with brass rods and a banded inlay surrounding a central panel of lighter color, accented with linear brass handles. The upper drawer, the smallest in size, is visually separated from the lower section by a simple molding. The side posts are decorated with fluted motifs that create a vertical effect leading the eye down to the four tapered feet on which the commode is raised. The beauty of the walnut grain is perfectly complimented by the golden color of the brass accents.
