SOLD - French 1840s Louis XV Style Walnut Double-Sided Buffet with Drawers and Doors

A French Louis XV style double faced walnut buffet from the second quarter of the 19th century, with three drawers and two doors. Born during the reign of France's last king Louis-Philippe, this walnut buffet features a rectangular top with beveled edges, sitting above three dovetailed drawers (a smaller one flanked by two larger ones) and two doors. This set of double doors is visually separated by a central post showing fluted and reeded motifs and opens to reveal two inner shelves offering great storage opportunities. The buffet is double sided, the back being indeed adorned with faux drawers and doors, which will allow the piece to float in the middle of a room in order to create a separation. The buffet is raised on four short scrolled feet, connected to one another through a delicately scalloped skirt on all sides. With its elegant Louis XV lines and lovely walnut patina, this double sided buffet, circa 1840 will bring a touch of French elegance to any home, whether placed in a living room or dining room.
