SOLD - French 18th Century Walnut CommodeLouis XVI Period French 1780s Three-Drawer Walnut Commode with Bronze Hardware

A French Louis XVI period walnut three-drawer commode from the last quarter of the 18th century, with original bronze and brass hardware, banded drawers and fluted legs. Born under the reign of the last monarch of the Ancien Régime, this French commode features a rectangular framed top with rounded corners sitting above three elegant dovetailed drawers, simply adorned with their original classical ring pulls and central escutcheons. The recessed side panels showcase a lighter color contrasting beautifully with the darker tone of the rest of the body. The rounded fluted side posts create a perfect visual harmony on the façade, while the commode is raised on four cylindrical feet. The grand simplicity of the lines is beautifully accented by the discreet carved accent of the skirt. The purity of its Louis XVI lines, combined with its lovely patina, makes this French three-drawer commode circa 1780 an excellent choice for any bedroom, living room or foyer.
