SOLD - Pair of Swedish Gustavian Period 1790s Two-Drawer Chests with Soft Pink Color

A pair of Swedish Gustavian period two-drawer painted chests from the late 18th century, with marbleized tops, fluted accents and soft pink color. Each of this pair of Swedish Gustavian commodes features a rectangular top with faux-marble inset, sitting above two drawers adorned with cartouches flanking the escutcheons. These wide drawers are accented with discreet reeded column motifs that are subtly emerging out of the structure on the sides. Our eyes are immediately attracted to the commodes' arching fluted skirts, punctuated with carved medallions on the knees, while the pieces are raised on short tapering feet. Each commode is painted in a soft pink color that provides a charming contrast with the white hue of the marbleized tops. With its Gustavian lines and nice proportions, this pair of Swedish chest-of-drawers circa 1790 will bring a graceful presence to any home.
