SOLD A pair of Swedish Gustavian style painted wood bedside chests from the late 19th century, with dentil molding and reeded motifs. Born in Sweden at the end of the 19th century, each of this pair of chests features a slightly raised rectangular top, sitting above an elegant reeded molding. Each chest presents a façade made of three dovetailed drawers with reeded accents, fitted with brass hardware. The chests are each raised on four slender tapered legs with fluted accents and are painted in a light color presenting a nicely distressed patina. This soft palette is typical of the Scandinavian taste, aiming at brightening the homes of Sweden during the long, dark winters.
