SOLD - Swedish Gustavian Style 19th Century Breakfront Sideboard with Fluted Motifs

A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood breakfront sideboard from the 19th century, with dentil molding, fluted accents and carved rosettes. Born in Sweden during the 19th century, this stunning sideboard features a rectangular top with protruding accent, sitting above a delicate dentil molding and a breakfront façade. Four dovetailed drawers, each fitted with an hexagonal escutcheon, are resting atop four doors made of a pair of double doors in the center flanked by single ones. The horizontality of the piece is beautifully balanced by the vertical accentuation of the fluted motifs, while the ensemble is highlighted with carved rosettes. Raised on short tapered feet, the sideboard is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, aiming at brightening the homes during the long winters of Sweden. With its clean lines and delicate décor, this 19th century Swedish Gustavian Style painted sideboard will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any dining room or living room.
