A Swedish Rococo style painted wood three-seat sofa from the 19th century, with pierced back and new upholstery. Born in Sweden during the 19th century, this exquisite sofa will accommodate three people. Presenting a slightly curving back divided into three sections accented with pierced splats, the sofa showcases a rectangular serpentine-front seat recovered with a cotton upholstery. It is raised on a stunning base with scalloped apron and shell motifs, made of eight legs, the front ones being cabriole while the hind ones are turned. They are connected to one another through turned H-form cross-stretcher. The sofa is painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, aiming at brightening the homes during the dark winters of Sweden. With its nice proportions and delicate décor, this Swedish Rococo style 19th century bench will bring a graceful presence to any home, whether placed in a living room, dining room or foyer.
