SOLD An Northern Italian Baroque style carved walnut fratino writing table from the late 19th century. This exquisite walnut desk was born in the Northern part of Italy during the later years of the 19th century. Featuring a thick rectangular planked top resting on a molded apron, the table attracts all the attention thanks to its splendid lyre-shaped base, made of two volutes on each side connected to one another with a side stretcher. Adding to the elegance of the shape, each volute is adorned with a delicate low-relief foliage décor, typical of the Italian mastery. Each side is connected to one another through a spindle-shaped cross stretcher. The majestic ensemble, with its warm patina, and refined Silhouette, will make this Italian walnut fratino table circa 1890 an excellent choice for any home.
