This exquisite walnut desk was born in the Northern part of Italy during the later years of the 19th century. Featuring a thick rectangular planked top resting on a molded apron, the table attracts all the attention thanks to its splendid lyre-shaped base, made of two volutes on each side connected to one another with a side stretcher. Adding to the elegance of the shape, each volute is adorned with a delicate low-relief foliage décor, typical of the Italian mastery. Each side is connected to one another through a spindle-shaped cross stretcher. The majestic ensemble, with its warm patina, and refined Silhouette, will make this Italian walnut fratino table circa 1890 an excellent choice for any home.
