A 1905 scale from The Computing Scale Company from Dayton Ohio, US. The lower section features the glass tray on which the item that needed to be priced was placed. The first computing scale was invented in 1885 and figured the price of an item by combining the weight and price per pound. The Computing Scale Company was founded in 1891 and eventually took the name IBM in 1924. Needless to say, this item is a must have!
