SOLD - Pair of French 1850s Régence Style Fauteuils with Carved Shells and Upholstery

A pair of French Régence style carved wooden fauteuils from the mid-19th century, with new upholstery. Created in France in the early years of Emperor Napoleon III's reign, each of this pair of Régence style armchairs features a rectangular camelback, connected to two handsome open arms partially upholstered on the top, and carved with scrolling foliage. The seat, comprising of a custom cushion, is resting on four cabriole legs, decorated with C-scrolls and connected to one another through shell-carved aprons. The seat, back and upper arms have been recently reupholstered with a neutral colored double welt fabric complimenting the sinuous lines beautifully. With their graceful silhouettes, this pair of French 1850s Régence style fauteuils will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any living room.
