A French Napoleon III period painted wingback bergère chair from the late 19th century, with carved décor and new upholstery. Created in France at the end of emperor Napoleon III’s reign, this wingback bergère chair attracts our attention with its charming back and unusual carved décor. Recently upholstered with a neutral fabric adorned with discreet embroidered flowers, the chair is richly carved with twisted motifs, scrolls and petite beads. Painted in a soft grey color, the chair is resting on four legs, the front ones contrasting with the hind ones thanks to their ornate motifs and curving lines. Carved on the apron, this Napoleon III wingback chair circa 1870 will make for a great decorative addition to any living room or bedroom.
