A French Louis XV style slipper chair from the mid 19th century, with newer floral upholstery. Created in France during the third quarter of the 19th century, this slipper chair features a slanted back connected to a low seat raised on four cabriole legs with carved flowers, connected to one another through an apron carved in the front. The chair has been reupholstered with a double welt fabric adorned with delicate pink flowers. Slipper chairs were traditionally used in bedrooms helping ladies get dressed, hence the low seat.
