A French Louis XV style slipper chair from the mid 19th century, with newer floral upholstery. Created in France during the third quarter of the 19th century, this slipper chair features a slanted back connected to a low seat raised on four cabriole legs with carved flowers, connected to one another through an apron carved in the front. The chair has been reupholstered with a double welt fabric adorned with delicate pink flowers. Slipper chairs were traditionally used in bedrooms helping ladies get dressed, hence the low seat. With its Louis XV lines and petite proportions, this French slipper chair circa 1860 will be a great addition to any bedroom!
