A French Louis XV style wingback chair from the late 19th century, with newer upholstery and carved floral motifs. Created in France during the last decade of the 19th century, this fauteuil features a wingback offering great privacy to the sitter, carved with a delicate flower on the crest. The two open arms with scrolling supports are resting on a rectangular seat, reupholstered, along with the back, with a newer fabric adorned with foliage. The chair is raised on four cabriole legs connected to one another through an apron carved with floral motifs in the front. With its graceful lines and dark patina, this 19th century French Louis XV style wingback chair circa 1890 will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any living room or bedroom.
